Homework

Springwood Road State School believes:

• It is important to take into consideration when determining homework, that students may be engaged in many different activities outside of school. These may include a range of physical activities and sport, recreational and cultural pursuits.
• Homework is an important strategy for improving student outcomes, informing parents about what is happening in classrooms and indicating to parents student mastery of basic skills.
• Homework should be directly related to class work and appropriate to student's learning needs.
• Timelines for homework need to include flexibility to suit different lifestyles and commitments.
• Homework will be corrected and acknowledged.
• If your child is having difficulties with homework or you need advice on how best to create a positive work space then please talk to the class teacher.
